No one likes to lose teeth – especially if they’re one of the front ones. Getting an infected, painful, hopeless tooth removed is only the beginning. Now you need to decide on a replacement for it. Your dentist may give you a list of options: a denture, a partial denture, a bridge, or an implant. Out of all these options, the implant will be the one closest in function to your natural teeth.
However, most dentists will tell you that you would have to wait months before it will receive a crown to make it look like your teeth. What do you do in the meanwhile? You’re suggested to opt for a temporary denture or bridge in the meanwhile. Dentures are not fixed alternatives and bridges would require cutting of adjacent teeth and then, eventually crowning them as well.
